In today’s travels we visited a variety of places all focusing on the the highest priority issue in the twenty first century. After the lecture this morning at the university of Guanajuato in Irapuato, we headed to an irrigated wheat and barley operation. Juan Sanchez’s operation encompasses approximately 80 acres of irrigated wheat, barley, and some sorghum depending on the time of year. He uses open canals to irrigate his crop land. This method is ineffective when comparing it to a drip line system.
